About the Course

[Architect Or Not] is a 6-week online program designed to help high school students explore what studying architecture in college is really like.
Through weekly lessons and hands-on activities, students gain clarity on whether architecture is the right major for them—before they commit.

INSIDE THE PROGRAM

WEEK 1

What Is Architecture, Really?

Discover what architects actually do — beyond just drawing buildings. Explore architecture as a career, discipline, and mindset.

WEEK 2

A Day in the Life

What’s it really like to study architecture in college? Explore the daily routines, studio culture, class formats, and time commitments.

WEEK 3

Core Skills & Creative Thinking

Explore the key skills used in architecture school — from visual thinking to spatial problem-solving. No experience needed!

WEEK 4

Tools & Tech

An intro to the tools of the trade: sketching, modeling, software, and how architects use them to bring ideas to life.

WEEK 5

Design Mini-Project

Try your hand at a simple design challenge! You’ll apply what you’ve learned in a creative exercise — no grades, just exploration.

WEEK 6

Architect... or Not?

Reflect on what you’ve learned, revisit your goals, and decide whether architecture is the right path for you.

Each week, students are given a list of 5–10 core architecture terms. They complete a Visual Glossary page for each word, including:

  • A student-friendly definition

  • A visual representation (drawing, collage, diagram, or image)

  • An example in real life (from their surroundings, online, or class materials)
